Police still investigating August ATV crash that took life of 18-year-old woman this week

Jasmine Saunders, 18, died this week in the aftermath of an Aug. 17 ATV crash on Broken Second Rd., South Dundas.

IROQUOIS — A serious ATV crash near Iroquois in August turned extra tragic this week as a young woman lost her life as a consequence.

The SD&G OPP  confirmed today that Jasmine Saunders, 18, died Oct. 28 as a result of injuries sustained in the Aug. 17 incident on Broken Second Road. No one involved had been officially identified until now.

The deceased was one of three people aboard the eastbound all-terrain vehicle, all of whom were ejected when the machine left the roadway and rolled into a ditch after midnight. Saunders was transported off site by air ambulance; the other two individuals received serious injuries that also sent them to hospital.

The local detachment says it continues to investigate with the assistance of OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI). “Further information will be available at a later time,” says Const. Tylor Copeland when asked about the possibility of charges in relation to this incident.
