SOUTH STORMONT — A 17-year-old male sustained serious, life-threatening injuries in a South Stormont car crash yesterday evening. He remains in hospital, as does a 29-year-old man in critical condition as a result of the two-vehicle collision.

The Nov. 6 incident occurred at 6:34 p.m. on County Rd. 2, according to the SD&G OPP. The detachment reports the teen was at the wheel of  an eastbound passenger vehicle that crossed the centre of the roadway, striking the westbound passenger vehicle driven by the other man.

The reasons for the crash remain under investigation by the SD&G OPP with the assistance of OP Traffic Collision Investigators.

Both drivers were alone in their respective vehicles.

A section of County Road 2 was closed to traffic with indicated detours in place but has since re-opened.
