SULLIVAN’S CORNERS — Police and other first responders are on the scene of a County Rd. 7 collision that snapped a hydro pole just south of Chesterville.

Police cars and a fire truck are blocking the road as paramedics and firefighters deal with the occupant of one vehicle — a crossover-type car, still parked on the road and otherwise appearing not damaged from a distance. The other vehicle, a smaller car, sits in a nearby front yard, its front end wrecked while the top piece of the broken hydro pole dangles from drooping power lines overhead.

The power momentarily blinked out in Chesterville around 3:40 p.m.; some other nearby areas were reported to still be without hydro.

Local firefighters are shown on scene. The involved vehicles are just outside the frame, on either side — one on the road (at left) and one on a front yard (at right) where it collided with a hydro pole. Zandbergen photo, Nation Valley News
