WDMH Foundation’s Christmas Wish Tree and the impact of the postal disruption

In case you are waiting for it in the mail …

WINCHESTER — Christmas is still coming – despite the current postal disruption. And the Judy Lannin Christmas Wish Tree appeal letter is on its way too.

“The WDMH Foundation has mailed the Wish Tree letters but we recognize that delivery may be delayed,” explains Managing Director Kristen Casselman. As well, it might take some time for donations to get back to the Foundation, which in turn, could impact those who would like a 2018 income tax receipt for their donation.

“The good news is that we have other options,” adds Kristen. “We want to ensure that our donors can still give to the Foundation during this special time of year. This program means a lot to our donors and to us.”

Donations to the Wish Tree can be made online at www.wdmhfoundation.ca. Click on the donate button and choose ‘The Judy Lannin Christmas Wish Tree’. Income tax receipts will be emailed shortly after the donations are made. Or donors can call the Foundation office at 613-774-2422, ext. 6162 or ext. 6172. Please be sure to mention ‘The Judy Lannin Christmas Wish Tree’.

“Both methods make it possible for us to place a tag on our Wish Tree in honour or in memory of someone near and dear to your heart,” sums up Kristen. “Thank you in advance for your support.”

The Christmas Wish Tree has been an annual tradition in our local communities for 21 years. In that time, more than $930,000 has been raised for WDMH’s highest priority needs.
