The Seventh North Stormont Council is inaugurated

BERWICK — Last night’s inauguration of the Seventh Council of the Township of North Stormont saw three familiar faces and two new ones sworn in for the 2018-2022 term.

Former councillors Jim Wert and Frank Landry were respectively inaugurated into their new roles as mayor and deputy mayor, while Randy Douglas returned as councillor (the only previous member remaining in his old job). Newcomers Steve Densham and Roxane Villeneuve — highest vote-getter in the election and daughter of the late provincial Agriculture minister Noble Villeneuve — also took the oath to officially become councillors.

The Dec. 3 ceremonies took place in front of a full house of family, friends, members of the public and staff at the Council Chambers in Berwick.
