The Rockets’ Launch Pad
North Dundas Rockets
The North Dundas Rockets had just one game on the docket this past weekend when they played host the Clarence Creek Castors in Chesterville on Saturday night. The Castors currently sit with a league best 14-3-1 record while with the loss the Rockets move to 9-6 1 and a second place hold in the West Division.
The Castors got on the board first when Sam Gaudet (Nathan Melee, Austin Laprade 7:29) found the back of the net. Pat Lemay (Melee, Kyle Green 5:31 pp) increased the lead to a pair followed by Aiden Cannell (Mathew Clifford, Pat Lemay 4:25 pp) for a 3 to 0 lead. The Rockets would respond with goals from Captain Brad Stitt (Connor Roth, Justin Lefebvre 3:30) and Connor Roth (Stitt, Lefebvre 0:07)
In the second period the Rockets lost their footing after Clarence score three times on goals from Logan Lefebvre (Mickey George, Aiden Cannell 11:06 pp); Clifford (Melee, Lemay 2:01 pp); and Etienne Agius-Pease ( Sam Gaudet, Cannell 1:38)
The Rockets opened the scoring in the 3rd period one a goal by Roth (Cameron Brown 13:26) before ultimately watching Clarence cruise to a 9 to 3 win with the final goals coming from Lemay (2) and Kyle Goodman.
From an organizations stand point the game was a disappointment in terms of outcome. The reality of the Rockets situation at the moment is injuries and suspensions that have accumulated over the past couple weeks involving 5 regular players. As General Manager of the club I am simply hoping that the we can weather the storm in December and get through it. We will get a nice boost come December 14th when Winchester Native Tom Fingler and Jack Gill return to the lineup for the second half of the season. If the rest of the guys can get healthy, and with those two additions, we will regain form pretty quickly.
Rockets next home game is this Saturday night December 8th when they host the Metcalfe Jets at 7:30 in Chesterville
Please note that Dream Vacation Tickets are on sale through the Rockets, if anyone is interested please contact Kevin Byers 613 223 0620 or Rob Sadler 613 809 5771
Thanks to North Dundas for continued support, we will continue to work hard and hopefully heal for a strong second half run in 2019
See you at the rink.
