Arrests in South Stormont home invasion

SOUTH STORMONT — Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with a late-night home invasion at a Collins Rd. residence in South Stormont.

Members of the SD&G OPP responded shortly after 12:15 a.m. to the Dec. 6 armed robbery at the home.

Three armed individuals, wearing disguises, broke into the residence and assaulted two adult victims with a weapon, according to the detachment. The culprits stole items from the house before fleeing in a vehicle.

Officers responding to the call located the vehicle a short distance away with three suspects inside. Further investigation revealed the male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

The  victims were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and have since been released.

Charged with Break and Enter are three Cornwall residents: Dennis Gowan, 55, Blake Woods, 25 and Clarissa Square, 25.

All three were held in custody to appear today for a bail hearing in Cornwall court.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending, according to the SD&G OPP.
