EMBRUN — Russell County OPP are looking for the public’s help in identifying a suspicious male motorist who approached children in Embrun with an offer to drive them home.

The complaint was called in to the detachment Dec. 21 around 4 p.m.

In his mid 20s and driving a silver car, the man slowed down on Centenaire St. at Normandie Ave. to engage in conversation with two youths walking at that location.

“I can drive you home,” he is reported to have told them.

Russell County OPP say the man had a dark complexion, wore a black rain coat and had dark curly hair. The car is described as a rust-free “very clean” silver Honda Civic with tinted windows and winter tires on black rims.

In light of the incident, the detachment encourages parents to discuss and review “stranger danger” tips with their children.

Contact the Russell County OPP at 613-443-4499 or OPP Communication Centre at 1-888-310-1122 if you have any information on the involved individual or vehicle.
