Russell Kin Club’s Catch the Ace chasing $17K

Latest game ongoing since June, to benefit worthy causes

RUSSELL — What would you do with $17,000?

The “Catch the Ace” lottery will earn the winner a jackpot of over $17K if the Ace of Spades is pulled in Russell this week.

Since June, the Kin Club of Russell has been having weekly draws in its Catch the Ace lottery. If the ace is not drawn, the weekly winner will win over $700.

Profits from the fundraiser are to be donated back to the community. As of last week, after expenses, the Kin Club of Russell reports $36,300.10 available to donate.  Of this amount, $5,118 will go to Victoria’s Quilts (VQ) as additional funding earned through their members’ ticket sales, plus $48 to Russell Minor Hockey Association (RMHA), while the remainder ($31,134.10 or more if not won) will be split among three causes on the Kin Club licence (VQ, youth sports equipment and Cystic Fibrosis Canada).

The Club invites all minor youth (under 18) sports organizations in Russell Township in need of sports equipment to fill in the form on the Kin Club of Russell website

Any organization interested in benefitting from funds such as those raised through the Kin Club of Russell’s Catch the Ace is invited to submit their proposal via email addressed to club president Cindy Anthony at
