CHESTERVILLE — Residents of Garden Villa distributed the first half of funds they collectively raised through a number of efforts in 2018.

Proceeds of the Christmas Bazaar, Christmas Cake Sale, Yard Sale, Bake Sale, Plant Sale, Donations and Silent Auctions are being split between the Heart & Stroke Foundation and Canadian Cancer Society, as decided by a vote of the Villa’s Resident Council.

Allison St-Jean of the Canadian Cancer Society’s Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry and Prescott-Russell chapter picked up her organization’s share — $2,884 — at the Chesterville home today.

The same amount will be presented to the Heart & Stroke Foundation Feb. 14 during the Villa’s Walk, Rock and Roll-a-Thon.

Applause as the money is turned over.
