It was a good winter break for all students and staff, but everyone had to return to school last week. This week and next week will be filled with students preparing for exams and handing in summative projects. Grade 9’s who are taking math this semester also have their final EQAO assessment Wed., Jan. 16, and Thurs., Jan 17. In 8 days, exams will start for grades 9-12. The exam schedule is as follows; Period 1 exam is on Thurs., Jan. 24, Period 2 exam is on Fri., Jan. 25, Period 3 exam is on Mon., Jan. 28, and Period 4 exam is on Tues., Jan. 29. If there happens to be a snow day on an exam day, all exams will be pushed back by one day. The new semester starts on Feb 1!
Since January is a “prep for exams” month, very little has gone on. Hockey was prevalent last week, with the girls playing on Tues., Jan. 8, and the boys playing on Wed., Jan. 9. The girls team lost 3-0 to St. Joes, but they won against Charlan 3-2. Good job girls! The boys team also lost to St. Joes with a score of 2-1. The boys team tied Charlan 1-1. On Thurs., Jan. 10, the Junior and Senior girls’ volleyball teams and the Junior and Senior boys’ basketball teams played good games. The Junior girls’ volleyball team lost against La Citadelle, but defeated CCVS. Sadly, the Senior girls lost against La Citadelle and CCVS. Good try girls! The Junior boys’ basketball team played against St. Lawrence, but sadly lost 50-23. The Senior boys’ basketball team also played against St. Lawrence and lost 71-22. Better luck next time boys!
