Burger King on Montreal Rd. closed after evening shooting

OTTAWA — Burger King restaurant on Montreal Rd. was closed last night after a verbal confrontation turned shooting between four males, around 6 p.m.

Three males entered the restaurant and engaged in a verbal confrontation with another who was already there.

Multiple shots were fired at the victim and the suspects fled the restaurant.

The victim — who is known to police — was transported to hospital and his injuries are non-life threatening.

The suspects are currently at large. This was a targeted shooting and it is believed that the victim and the suspects knew each other. The Guns & Gangs Unit will not be releasing any further information at this time while the investigation is ongoing. Any significant updates will be provided by the Media Relations Section.

The Burger King was for the evening while the investigation continues. The Guns & Gangs Unit is asking any potential witnesses to this shooting, to contact them at (613) 236-1222 Ext 5050.
