Firearm seized in Iroquois, domestic assault, and drugs seized during traffic stop

Warrant executed – Weapons seized

IROQUOIS — Several weapons including a shotgun were seized by police after a search warrant was executed at a property on Jan. 16, on Rowena Rd., Iroquois. Members of the SD&G OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) worked together on this matter.

Marc Martin, 26, of South Dundas, was arrested and charged with;

– Unauthorized Possession of a firearm

– Careless Storage of Firearm, weapon, prohibited device and ammunition

– Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order

– 8 counts of failure to comply with conditions of an probation order

He was held in custody for bail and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court.      

 

Domestic investigation

NORTH DUNDAS — SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of domestic assault in progress on Jan. 16. When officers arrived on scene shortly after 7 p.m. they immediately intervened to remove the male from attacking the female.

The male then became aggressive with officers at scene. Further investigation conducted by police revealed a 50-year-old male resident of North Dundas had assaulted his common-law wife with a weapon on multiple occasions.

The 50-year-old male of North Dundas faces charges of:

–             Four counts of Assault with a weapon

–             Five counts of Assault

–             Two counts of Uttering Threats

–             Mischief

–             Assault with intent to resist arrest

He was held in custody for bail and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court.

The name of the accused is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

 

Drugs seized at traffic stop

NORTH DUNDAS — SDG OPP and the Community Crime Street Unit seized a large quantity of suspected cocaine during a stop on County Rd. 13, North Dundas.  

The male driver, Gerald Gravelle, 68, South Dundas, was arrested and charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking

– Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime

– Use of plates not in accordance with regulations (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court, March 5.
