SOUTH DUNDAS — Two local men have been charged after authorities seized a stolen mini dump truck, Kubota mini excavator and a trailer in South Dundas.
The equipment was taken in Ottawa, according to the SD&G OPP, which reports the arrest of Donnie Helder, 48, of South Stormont and William Nash, 34, of South Dundas.
Officers with the detachment were assisted by the OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team in the Jan. 18 action at the Weegar Rd. address.
Both arrested men have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 — three counts for Nash and four counts for Helder. Nash also faces a charge for violating probation.
The accused were held in custody pending a Cornwall bail hearing.
Store employee charged with theft
SOUTH DUNDAS — A store employee is accused of stealing from the County Rd. 31 establishment.
SD&G OPP officers launched an investigation Jan. 20, arresting Brittney Winters, 32.
The detachment says that Winters is charged with four counts of theft under $5,000.
The accused was released to appear March 5 in Morrisburg court.
Man breaches release conditions and probation, but is released
SOUTH DUNDAS — Officers picked up a 25-year-old South Dundas man for breaching his previous release conditions and probation.
The SD&G OPP and Community Street Crime Unit apprehended the unnamed individual Jan. 22 during a domestic incident occurring shortly after 1:40 p.m.
Charged with three counts of fail to comply with conditions of undertaking plus two counts of fail to comply with conditions of probation order, he was released to appear Feb. 19 in Cornwall court.
Arrest in North Glengarry break-ins
NORTH GLENGARRY — A North Glengarry man has been apprehended in connection with break-ins in that township.
Officers with the SD&G OPP and the Community Street Crime arrested 28-year-old Eric Seguin, of North Glengarry, on Jan. 17.
According to the local detachment, Seguin is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000;
- four counts of fail to comply with conditions of a probation order;
- two counts of break and enter;
- Possession of break-in instruments;
- Possession of a controlled substance.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Cornwall court.
370 calls for service
SDG — The SD&G OPP handled 370 calls for service and launched several investigations between Friday, Jan. 18 and Thursday, Jan. 24.
The detachment reports responding to:

- 33 calls for police assistance

- 13 traffic hazards
- 4 traffic enforcement occurrence’s
