Single snowmobile accident sends lone male to hospital

Snowmobile Collision 

SOUTH GLENGARRY — A single snowmobile collision, involving one driver, occurred Jan. 26 shortly after 1 a.m. on the OFSC Trails near Kraft Rd., South Glengarry.

SD&G OPP say the male driver lost control of the snowmobile and struck a ditch. The 48-year-old male of Cornwall, was transported to hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries. SD&G OPP with the assistance of (TCI) Traffic Collision Investigators continue the investigation.

Domestic Assault

NORTH GLENGARRY — SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of domestic situation in North Glengarry. A 21-year-old male assaulted his girlfriend on January 25, shortly after 11 p.m. Investigation revealed that an adult male had assaulted his girlfriend.

The North Glengarry male was arrested and charged with;

– Two counts of Assault  

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria court on March 6.

Impaired Driver

SOUTH STORMONT — SD&G OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Cty. Rd 14, South Stormont shortly after 7 p.m.  January 27. Investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Austin Bennett, 24, of North Stormont, was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

– Driving a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court February 14.
