Ottawa Police ICE Unit charge Ottawa man with 10 child pornography offences

OTTAWA — Yesterday, the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the Rockcliffe-Manor Park area and charge 41-year-old Danyiel Walker, of Ottawa, with ten child pornography-related offences.

Danyiel Walker, 41, of Ottawa was charged with:

*       4 counts of Possession of child pornography s.163.1 (4) of the Criminal Code

*       3 counts of Access child pornography s. 163.1(4.1) of the Criminal Code

*       3 counts of Distribution child pornography s. 163.1 (3) of the Criminal Code

In mid January 2019, the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC) forwarded the Ottawa Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) reports they had received from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipLine.

These reports identified an IP address resolving to the Ottawa area as being used to upload images and videos of prepubescent child pornography. A production order was served on the Internet Service Provider which confirmed the address of the criminal activities.

Walker is scheduled to appear in court today.

This is an ongoing investigation and ICE investigators are concerned that there are victims in the Ottawa area. Additional charges are expected to be laid.
