Another ‘snow day’ as freezing rain kiboshes school buses

EASTERN ONTARIO — It’s the seventh ‘snow day’ of the 2018-19 school year as Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario pulled the buses this morning.

Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario called it because of last night’s freezing rain, leaving “many roads treacherous to travel.”

Schools remain open for students who can make it there, in the Eastern Ontario territory covered by STEO’s bus contractors.

School buses, however, are running today in neighbouring Ottawa, which is not served by STEO. An exception, though, is Marionville’s École élémentaire catholique Sainte-Thérèse-d’Avila (technically in Ottawa); the bus consortium responsible for French Catholic school buses in the city confirms that buses to Marionville have been cancelled.
