Benefit dance for Wounded Warriors Canada at Morrisburg Legion, Feb. 16

MORRISBURG — A Wounded Warriors Canada rep will be in Morrisburg Feb. 16 to collect all proceeds of a benefit dance taking place for the organization that evening.

Soundtastic Productions DJ Services has teamed up with the Morrisburg Legion to put on the fundraiser. Doors open 7:30 p.m. for the event that also features the band Rogue.

“We shouldn’t hesitate to help our veterans,” explains Soundtastic DJ and owner Steve Barkley, who came up with the idea for the benefit. “It seems to be in the news that some veterans have to get really upset to get their benefits going.”

It’s Barkley’s first attempt at helping the cause, but “if I have my way, it’ll be an annual event,” he says.

As for headliners Rogue, “they are an awesome band and awesome people as well,” he adds.

Tickests are $15 in advance or $20 at the door (10 Legion Street, Morrisburg). (Contact Steve, 613-402-0518 or Randy, 613-930-5544).

In addition to the music, attendees will enjoy a light lunch and a chance to win door prizes.

The entertainment runs until 1 a.m.
