Last week started off with two snow days on Monday, Feb. 4, and Tuesday, Feb. 5. Due to the snow days and weather conditions, the Secondary Open House has been moved to Wed., Feb. 13 from 5:30-7 p.m.

This past weekend, ND’s 3 curling teams, Team Cave, Team Cooper, and Team Roach, travelled to Brighton to compete against the other school curling teams on a regional level. Team Roach made it to the boys B finals, but sadly did not win. Team Cooper made it to the girls B finals, but lost by just a few points. Team Cave was victorious in their games, and they won the girls A Championships. The team consisting of Grace Cave, Alix Giles, Alison Roach, and Mya Woods will be competing in Provincials this week, Feb. 14-16. Great job and good luck girls! On Thurs., Jan 7, the Senior and Junior boys basketball teams played games on their own court. The Junior boys team had their first victory of the season, winning against Seaway by 8 points. In their second game, they lost to Glengarry by 6 points. Valiant effort boys! The Senior boys also won against Seaway, with a close score of 38-33. In the second game, they were demolished by Glengarry by 45 points.

Thurs., Feb. 14 will be Red, White, and Pink Day! Celebrate Valentine’s Day in the festive colours! This Friday, Feb. 15, the intermediate division is hosting a Sweetheart Dance! Bring in $2 to enter. There will be a canteen, contests, and prizes! If you paid for the Christmas dance that unfortunately didn’t happen, you do not have to pay again.

Next Monday, Feb. 18 is family day. Enjoy the long weekend!
