CHESTERVILLE — The power blinked out for a couple of minutes just before 9 a.m. this morning after a pickup truck ran into a hydro pole on County Rd. 7.

OPP Const. Tylor Copeland says no injuries resulted from the incident.

Firefighters and officers were on site controlling the scene — just south of the Boyne Rd. intersection — shortly afterward. The black truck sat at the bottom of the west ditch with the pole partially collapsed on top of the vehicle’s front end.

A bucket truck also stood nearby as crews prepared to fix the damage.

Copeland says a detour around the site will remain in place for an extended period today as repairs are made.
