WINCHESTER — A car was stolen from a Winchester residence sometime within a 20-minute span yesterday morning.
SD&G OPP say the four-door charcoal grey Chevy Impala was taken Feb. 28 from a Caleb Street address between 6 a.m. and the time police were notified of the incident at 6:20 a.m.
The stolen car had Ontario licence plates CDKL 945.
Accused of driving drugged
SOUTH STORMONT — A Quebec man has been charged with driving while impaired by a drug after a traffic complaint led a police officer to stop him Feb. 27.
According to the SD&G OPP, Charles Methot-Trepanier, 31, of Boucherville, Que., was arrested after being intercepted on Highway 401 shortly before 9:10 p.m. He also faces a charge of failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance.
The accused was released to appear March 28 in Cornwall court.
Disturbance
NORTH GLENGARRY — A man has been arrested and charged for causing a disturbance inside a Maxville Main Street business.
SD&G OPP officers responded Feb. 25 to the reported “suspicious person” at the establishment shortly before 4:55 p.m.
The SD&G OPP say that North Glengarry resident Michael Lalonde, 28, is charged with causing a disturbance, being intoxicated in a public place, and engaging in a prohibited activity on premises under the Trespass to Property Act.
Lalonde was held in custody pending a bail appearance in Cornwall court.
