CHESTERVILLE — Buy a ticket, cross your fingers and claim a fun stake in the upcoming Peter van Kessel Memorial Rubber Duck Race.

Organized annually by the Chesterville Rotary Club, 900 of the little rubber duckies are set to splash down 1 p.m. in the South Nation River on Sat., April 13. From their release point at the County Rd. 43 bridge, the artificial birds will float downstream toward the Main St. bridge finish line. Individual prizes of $500 (first place), $100 (second place) and $50 (third place) will go to the respective ticket holders on those race-winning ducks.

A draw will be held in the event of inclement weather.

Tickets are currently available at $5 each from members of the Chesterville Rotary Club, often selling at a table inside Mike Dean’s in Chesterville. They’re also available at the front counter at the MB Foster Associates building (location of Nation Valley News and Storm Internet) at 2808 County Rd. 7. Also buy tickets at Nation Valley News’s front counter at 2808 County Rd. 7, Chesterville (the M. B. Foster Associates Limited and Storm Internet Services building).

One thing is for certain: You can’t win if you don’t have a duck in this race!
