PRESCOTT — Shortly after 7 p.m. on April 1, Grenville OPP received numerous calls regarding an aluminum boat which was floating eastbound on the St. Lawrence River.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) dispatched aerial units which located the boat around midnight — along the river bank, just west of Marine Station Road. The boat was empty and there are no confirmed sightings of anyone in the boat. The boat is currently located on the river side of the canal. It does not appear to be accessible by land at this point. It is described as an aluminum boat with red detailing and black motor.

Anyone having information on the above is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
