Risk of freezing rain cancels school buses for 11th lost day this year

EASTERN ONTARIO — In perhaps one of the latest cancellations of student transportation to ever occur during the school year, authorities have pulled school buses from the roads this morning.

Schools remain open in the area served by Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario, but the entity has called off the buses due to risk of freezing rain.

It’s the eleventh day of cancelled transportation service during the 2018-19 school year as a result of poor driving conditions, anticipated poor driving conditions and/or extreme cold related to winter weather.
