Two men charged after traffic complaints, domestic assault charges laid

EMBRUN — During the week of April 8 to April 14, Russell County OPP responded to 327 calls for service. The calls for service included:

 

Traffic complaints lead to impaired charges

Russell County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 417 Eastbound near Limoges on April 13 shortly before 5 p.m.

During the investigation, the officer determined that the male had been consuming alcohol and was impaired.

As a result of the investigation, Tyler McEwen, 25-years-old, from North Glengarry, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs CC 320.14(1)(a) and
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused received a 90-day driver’s license suspension and the vehicle was also impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear  in L’Orignal court on May 8.

 

Russell County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 417 Eastbound near the Casselman on April 14, around 2 a.m.

As a result of the investigation, Justin Abraham Lazore, 33-years-old, from Akwesasne, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs CC 320.14(1)(a) and
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused received a 90-day driver’s license suspension and the vehicle was also impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in L’Orignal court on May 15.

 

Domestic assault

Russell County OPP officers responded to a domestic dispute on Lafleche Boulevard in Casselman, April 9, around 10:30 p.m.

The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred between a male, a female and another family member.

As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old male from Casselman, was charged with:

  • Domestic Assault CC 266;
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm CC 264.1(1)(a);
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm – Spousal CC 264.1(1)(a) and
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order CC 733.1(1)

The accused is scheduled to appear in L’Orignal court on May 1.
