“My goal is to keep everyone dancing,” says Rory Gardiner. “My band and I will be playing great country music – with some classic rock and top 40 hits mixed in. Songs to keep everyone dancing all night long.”

WINCHESTER — The Winchester District Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce their headline act for Boots & Bling, this year’s premier country event in support of local health care set for Saturday, June 8.

Rory Gardiner is a local country star and was nominated for a 2018 Canadian Country Music Association award. He has appeared on multiple Country Music Television shows and his original tunes have also been recorded by other artists or used in commercials and TV shows. He is no stranger to local venues having played at the Navan Fair and Ottawa Bluesfest three times – one time sharing the stage with Keith Urban.

I’m excited to take part in the important event for a great cause,” says Rory. “It’s important to give back to local communities.”

Much of Rory’s success is due to his ‘try everything attitude’. “It’s easy to get down, but I kept going and I got lucky. I love performing and writing songs,” he says. Rory also started writing some funny songs, leading to stand-up comedy. When his home was damaged by the devastating tornadoes last fall, he poked fun at the damage to help deal with the destruction.

Boots & Bling will begin with cocktails at 5:15 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner – including beef tenderloin and chicken catered by AJ’s Catering – and a live auction with local auctioneer Brandon Scheepers. At 9 p.m., we will dance the night away with Rory. Stylish country-western attire is encouraged!

Proceeds from the event will go to the Family Care Fund, ‘supporting care for families just like yours’. “Many people are not aware that our tax dollars do not fund everything that a hospital needs. This event is one of the many ways we are raising money to help ensure compassionate, excellent health care at WDMH,” explains Cindy Peters, Manager of Direct Mail & Events.

Tickets are now on sale for $100 each. Contact the Foundation Office at 613-774-2422, ext. 6162 to reserve your tickets or purchase online at bit.ly/Boots-Bling. See you on June 8!
