Keep motorboats and Sea-Doos off the Ottawa River in Clarence-Rockland

ROCKLAND — Sight-seeing motor-boaters and Sea-Doo riders hit the waves of the Ottawa River to gawk at the City of Clarence-Rockland’s flooded shoreline last week — and their presence was not appreciated.

Receiving a complaint last Friday about the motorized vessels and the wakes they produce, Russell County OPP says it “would like to discourage members of the public and residents” from using such watercraft within city limits.

The resulting “larger wakes” created by the craft  “are causing more damage,” the detachment says.
