‘New and improved’ Brandon Scheepers eager to call Boots & Bling auction, June 8

WINCHESTER — Brandon Scheepers wowed guests at the 2017 Red & White Gala as the youngest auctioneer in town. Two years later, he jokingly describes himself as ‘new and improved’ with much more experience with a gavel in his hand.

“I’ve been going to auctions since I was five and I still love it,” says Scheepers. “I’m excited to be part of Boots & Bling for WDMH on June 8th.”

When not at school at McGill University, Scheepers still leads auctions around the region, including bird auctions and events at Rideau Auction in Winchester. Last year, he attended the prestigious World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa, joining 70 auctioneers from around the world who were all there to sharpen their skills. This year, he was reserved champion at a provincial auctioneering competition in Peterborough.

“I like to support our community and our local hospital,” the auctioneer sums up. “I was born at WDMH and many members of my family have received care there. I look forward to seeing everyone at Boots & Bling.”

Boots & Bling will begin with cocktails at 5:15, followed by a buffet dinner — including beef tenderloin and chicken catered by AJ’s Catering — and silent and live auctions. At 9 the partygoers will dance the night away with Rory Gardiner. Organizers encourage stylish country/western attire!

Proceeds from the event go to the Family Care Fund, ‘supporting care for families just like yours.’

“Many people are not aware that our tax dollars do not fund everything that a hospital needs. This event is one of the many ways we are raising money to help ensure compassionate, excellent health care at WDMH,” explains Cindy Peters, Manager of Direct Mail & Events.

Tickets are now on sale for $100 each and are selling fast. Contact the Foundation Office at 613-774-2422, ext. 6162 to reserve tickets or purchase online at bit.ly/Boots-Bling.
