Russell County OPP respond to 288 calls for service May 13 to 19

EMBRUN — Russell County OPP responded to 288 calls for service during the week of May 13 through to May 19. The calls for service included:

Traffic complaint lead to impaired charges

THE NATION — A traffic complaint lead to an Ontario driver being arrested. At 9 p.m. on May 15 Russell County OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint on Route 600 West in The Nation.

During the investigation, the officer determined that the female had been consuming alcohol and was impaired.

As a result of the investigation, Jessica Rajotte, 20, from Ottawa, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused received a 90-day driver’s license suspension and the vehicle was also impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in L’Orignal court on June 12.

 

Male charged with flight from peace officer

ROCKLAND — A Russell County OPP officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Landry Rd. in the City of Clarence-Rockland on May 15, at 10 p.m., but the vehicle continued on at a high rate of speed.

As a result of the investigation, Cedric Charette, 18, from Clarence-Rockland, was charged with:

  • Flight from peace officer CC 320.17;
  • Dangerous operation CC 320.13(1) and
  • Speeding 1-49 km/h over-posted speed limit HTA 128

The accused is scheduled to appear in L’Orignal court on June 12.

 

Male charged with assault a peace officer

ROCKLAND — A domestic related situation occurred on May 17, shortly before 7 p.m. on Laurier St, in Rockland.

Investigation revealed that a male and a female had an altercation. The officers apprehended a male after he attempted to flee.

As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old male, from Rockland, was charged with:

  • Assault a Peace Officer CC 270(1)(a);
  • Resist Peace Officer CC 129(a);
  • Mischief – Domestic CC 430(4)
  • Assault Peace Officer – Cause bodily harm CC 270.01(1)(b)

The accused is scheduled to appear in L’Orignal court on June 12.

 

Domestic assault

A domestic dispute occurred shortly after 12 p.m. on Cote Street in Rockland, May 19.

The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred between a male and a female.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old male from Rockland, was charged with:

  • Domestic Assault CC 266 and
  • Two counts of Failure to Comply with Recognizance CC 145(3)

The accused is scheduled to appear in L’Orignal court on June 12.
