KENNEBEC LAKE — On the weekend of May 24-26, the Lions Clubs of District A4 (eastern Ontario and western Quebec) came together for the 31st annual Blind Anglers International Tournament (BAIT).
Although the weather was raining for the tournament event day on Saturday, all 26 Blind Anglers happily boarded the boats of the 16 Pro Anglers and headed out onto Kennebec Lake. By the deadline of 3 p.m., all had returned to Springwood Cottages. Results were tallied for Biggest Pike, Number of Pike with the maximum of six being broken through total weight,  and Catch of the Day. Trophies were awarded with a delicious beef dinner to follow.
While Saturday was the busiest day, Friday was a full afternoon of training followed by socializing and dinner. Sunday was a delicious breakfast before packing up for home. The weekend was enjoyed by all the anglers, workers and everyone involved whether they be Lions or not.
The BAIT weekend is made possible through the financial contributions from 43 of our local Lions Clubs, and donations and sponsorships from Springwood Cottages, Rebel Tents, Mastermind Event Rentals, St John Ambulance of Leeds-Grenville & Lanark, 417 Bus Lines, Anthony Lawson Audio, Lion Andre Cote, Don’s Meat Market, the BAIT Committee, our Pro Anglers, our Guides, and all of our volunteer workers.
