Jack Link goes to OFSAA, Austyn Toll announced as Grade 7/8 Valedictorian

It was a busy week last week for all students; last minute tests and assignments, sports are wrapping up for the season, Prom for the Grade 12s, and planning for next year’s student council. 2019-2020 student council elections are this Friday, June 7. Make sure you’re at school to cast your vote! Not only are high school students are being recognized for their leadership, but so are Grade 7/8s! This year’s Grade 8 Valedictorian is Austyn Toll! Congratulations!

After the EOSSAA track and field meet on Thurs., May 23 and Fri., May 24, three talented athletes qualified to go to East Regionals. At EOSSAA, Jack Link placed second in the 1500 meter and third place in the 3000 meter, Tyler Snelson placed fourth in the 100 meter, and Zac Hamilton placed second in Long Jump with a personal best of 6.33 meters! At East Regionals on Thurs., May 30, and Fri., May 31, Link came 2nd in the 1500 meter and 6th in the 3000, Snelson came sixth in the 100 meter, and Hamilton came sixth in long jump. Since Link was in the top 4 of the 1500 meter, he qualified for OFSAA which is this Thurs., June 6, and Fri., June 7. Well done boys, and good luck Jack!

A group of students are spending the next three days at Leadership Camp, today Monday, June 3 through Wednesday June 5. The days will be filled with team building activities, leadership games, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and more. It’s a great way to connect with the other peer leaders in the school.
