CHESTERVILLE — It was a very successful and busy weekend for members of the Chesterville & District Agricultural Society (CDAS) this weekend.
The barn doors at the fairgrounds opened bright and early at 8 a.m. for a total of 17 vendors to start setting up their tables.
At 9 a.m. the barn was booming with an estimated 500 people there to shop for farm animals, farming supplies, and even home decor courtesy of Forever Young Creations.
There was a vast array of furry and feathery critters to choose from including; chickens, rabbits, pigs, ducks, and many different varieties of each.
Organizer Rylee Keeler was very impressed by the sale’s success, “We had 17 vendors and over 500 people in the barn around 9. Definitely something will are going to build on for our Fall sale.”
While things were heating up at the fairgrounds, the barbecue was sizzling under the gazebo on Main St. during this year’s edition of Art on the Waterfront.
The ladies of CDAS cooked up a storm of hotdogs and hamburgers. Over 140 hamburgers and 70 hotdogs were served.
They received many compliments on their tasty burgers which were purchased at Tom Henderson Meats and Abattoir, Chesterville.
Many even came back for seconds!
The committee would like to thank Tom Henderson and Mike Dean’s for their discounts and contributions and of course the community for their continued support!
This year’s Chesterville Fair runs from August 23-25.
