N. Dundas man charged with sexual assault of minor; S. Dundas male charged on two consecutive days

NORTH DUNDAS — A 25-year-old male resident of North Dundas was arrested for sexual assault of a minor on June 18. A police investigation indicated the male had sexually assaulted a young female known to him on multiple occasions.

The 25-year-old male resident of North Dundas faces charges of:

– Three counts of Sexual Assault on a person under 16 years of age 

– Three counts of Sexual Interference

– Invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age

He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on July 19.

The above charges are in relation to incidents involving a young girl.

The name of the accused is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.   

Assault with Weapon

MORRISBURG — SD&G OPP responded to a disturbance on Fifth St. West in Morrisburg on June 19 at approximately 10 p.m. Their investigation indicated that an altercation occurred between two family members. The accused male struck the victim with a weapon and threatened the victim as well.

According to the detachment, Zachary Thompson, 19, of South Dundas was arrested and is charged with:

–  Assault with a weapon

–  Uttering threats

He was released from custody  and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall August 13.

The next day, June 20 shortly before 1 p.m., police responded to the same street and arrested and charged Thompson again — this time with three counts of failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking.  

An investigation indicated that the accused male was breaching his previous day release conditions, according to the SD&G OPP.

He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear  in Cornwall June 21.
