Driver identified after fatal crash involving pickup and transport truck on County Rd. 43 near Avonmore

Update: The name deceased driver in the collision has been identified.

Sharon Irvine, age 55, of North Stormont, of the eastbound pick-up truck was pronounced deceased at the scene.

AVONMORE —  SD&G OPP officers are currently at the scene of a fatal two-vehicle collision that took the life of one person on County Rd. 43 June 26.

The driver of an eastbound pickup was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that occurred between Fairview Rd. and Kyle Rd. shortly before 8:55 a.m., according to the detachment. Police say they are still investigating why the pickup collided with a westbound transport.

An adult passenger in the pickup sustained serious, life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the big rig received serious, non-life-threatening injuries. Both were transported to hospital.
