Traffic stop near Spencerville results in two drug-related arrests

SPENCERVILLE —  Members of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by the Emergency Response Unit (ERT) and officers from Grenville County OPP conducted a traffic stop on July 5, on a vehicle travelling towards on Smith Rd., near Spencerville. 

A significant quantity of controlled substances suspected to be cocaine, crystal meth and methamphetamine tablets, were seized. 

As a result, Michael Telford, 37, and Brittany McParlan, 30, of Brockville, were arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine contrary to  CDSA section 5(2)
  • Possession of Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking – other drugs contrary to CDSA section 5(2) – Three Counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 contrary to s.354(1)(a) Criminal Code

They were arrested and transported to the Grenville County detachment. 

McParlan was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville, August 16. Telford was held for bail.
