Cornelia “Corry” Polak

“Corry” Polak (née Kapteyn) of Prescott, formerly of Morrisburg, age 106. Beloved wife of the late Kurt Polak (1999). Loving mother of Florence (Sheldon) Oglestone of Morrisburg and John (Diane) of Kemptville. Cherished grandmother of Christine Polak of Waterloo, Melissa (Corey) Cook of Richmond, Emily (Kennedy) Hong of Ottawa, Alex (Rachelle) Polak of Ottawa, Michael Oglestone of Nanaimo, and Susan (Leo) Miljour of Ottawa. Dearest great-grandmother of Sterling Reid of Ottawa, Mason and Tanner Cumming of Waterloo, Xavier Reid of Toronto, Hunter Cook of Richmond, Lauren and Martin Hong of Ottawa, Charlotte and August Polak of Ottawa and Logan Miljour of Ottawa. Predeceased by her parents Lijsje (née VanderKolm) and Cornelis Kapteyn and ten siblings (five brothers and five sisters). 

Born in the Netherlands, she, husband Kurt and children Florence and John came to Canada in 1952 and eventually settled in Morrisburg in 1955. Corry and Kurt owned and operated “The Dutch Shop” and were active in a variety of local activities and organizations.

Funeral Arrangements 

Memorial service to be held at Lakeshore Drive United Church, Morrisburg on Wednesday, July 17, at 11 a.m. Inurnment at Fairview Cemetery, Mariatown. Memorial donations to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital gratefully acknowledged. Parker Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be left at
