PRESCOTT — A Cardinal man has been charged after a pickup truck was observed laying rubber on Prescott’s ‘Pride Crosswalk’ last month.

The June 17 “intentional burnout” left  black marks and destroyed some of the hues in the rainbow-coloured crossing on King Street, according to Grenville County OPP.

The detachment reports today the arrest of Cardinal resident Robert Sugrue, 44, following an investigation into the incident.

Released to appear Aug. 16 in Brockville Court, Sugrue faces a charge of Mischief — destroys or damages property contrary to section 430(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
