SOUTH DUNDAS — Have you ever wanted to get involved in your community or make a difference? The Municipal government can be a great way to accomplish that and now is your chance; South Dundas is hosting a Youth at Council night on August 13. Youth at Council will provide the young adults of South Dundas with the opportunity to gain insight into local politics by connecting them with members of Council and their peers for a fun evening that is a wonderful learning opportunity.

“Our youth are the future, we want to inspire them to be active and engaged by showing them how to play important roles in the South Dundas government,” says Rob Hunter. “This is a great way for any young person curious about local government to see what it is all about.”

The Regular Council Meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the third floor Council Chambers where results from the Youth Engagement Survey will be presented to Council. Young people ages 15 to 29 are encouraged to register by email to and to receive a Tim Horton’s gift card during the evening. Young people interested will have the opportunity

to witness how their voices can be heard and new ideas are implemented in their community.

Kaileigh Helmer and South Dundas Summer Student, Tia Fraser-Dupuis will be on hand throughout the night to answer questions and participate with their peers. Joining those present will be the lucky Mayor for the Day contest winner.

“I’m hoping to see many of South Dundas’ youth at the Youth at Council Night. This is an amazing chance for us all to become a little more involved in our community,” said Helmer.
