A lifetime resident of Morrisburg Gary Dale Edward Duvall passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Friday, July 26. He was 80.
Gary was born in Morrisburg on December 5, 1938, the youngest child of Harry and Marguerite Duvall (nee Holmes). He leaves behind his wife of 61 years Sylvia (nee Jones), his 2 sons Mark (Deborah)and Bob (Julie) and his grandchildren Christopher (Jennifer), Craig (Jane), Colton and Danika. He is survived by his sisters Marie Merriam and Donna Jakel (Earl). Gary will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Gary coached minor hockey and served as referee-in-chief for a number of years. He enjoyed playing golf and was one of the founding members of the Valley League. Before his retirement from Rohm and Haas Gary started creating wood crafts and furniture for his family and friends. His workshop was his favourite place to be as he perfected his wildlife wood carving skills.
Gary was predeceased by his parents Harry and Marguerite Duvall, his sisters Winnie Fleming, Frances Brunet, Isabel Clark, Betty Prunner and his brothers Clayton and Ralph Duvall.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Inurnment will be at Iroquois Point Cemetery. Donations to Winchester Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
