Rainbow intersected by lightning above Dundas County

WINCHESTER — Another summer thunderstorm, another local light show.

A bolt of lightning intersected a rainbow from the vantage point of Winchester resident Jason Schell, who captured the image above yesterday evening.

The reportedly rare phenomenon is known as rainbow lighting.

Update: Another Winchester resident captured another spectacular image of rainbow lightning on the day. Sharon Ward Taylor says her husband was taking a photo of a visible double rainbow. “Just as he clicked the lightning struck.” (See below.)
