WINCHESTER — Under sunny skies Aug. 11, the fifth annual event overflowed the store’s parking lot and drew a number of vehicles from further afield for its 2019 edition.
Highway 43 Car Club President Rod Rafter reported being “pleased with the outcome,” adding that totals for the involved charitable fundraisers should be tallied in a couple of days.
Update: Organizers report raising $3,542, to be split between Community Food Share and House of Lazarus. The event also collected 459.85 pounds of non-perishable food. And Mary Steele of Russell won the featured draw for a cooler manufactured to look like a vintage woody car, complete with little rooftop surfboards and pop-top lid.
