Two domestic assaults; youth male charged after stolen property recovered

Domestic and sexual assault 

NORTH DUNDAS — An adult male assaulted and sexually touched his ex common-law wife shortly before 4 p.m. August 7, in North Dundas, according to the SD&G OPP. Police say their investigation also revealed he was breaching previous release conditions.

The 28-year-old male of Embrun was arrested and charged August 8 with:

– Assault

– Sexual assault

– Two counts of failure to comply with conditions of a probation order 

The accused was held in custody pending bail and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court. 

 

Domestic incident in South Stormont

SOUTH STORMONT — A 52-year-old Cornwall man assaulted his common-law around 3:30 p.m., August 7, South Stormont, according to the SD&G OPP. During the altercation the male also choked the victim and threatened her. The police investigation also revealed an adult male had caused damage to the home. 

Police say the man was arrested and is charged with: 

– Assault

– Overcome resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person

– Three counts of mischief 

– Uttering threats

He was released from custody and is scheduled to in Cornwall court on September 3.

 

Youth male arrested — property recovered  

NORTH DUNDAS — A male youth was arrested on August 8 in connection to stolen items from a property on Main St., Winchester. This resulted in the seizure of a four wheeler and a John Deere gator. Further investigation revealed the young male also caused damage to property within the village as well.

According to the SD&G OPP, a 16 year-old North Dundas male was arrested and charged with; 

– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

– Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

– Mischief under $5000 

The accused was released from custody and scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on September 10.

 

Super speeder

SOUTH DUNDAS — A male, 21, from Montreal was stopped during a speed measuring enforcement traveling 188km/h in a 100km/h zone on Hwy. 401 shortly after 7 a.m.

The vehicle was impounded and his driver’s permit seized for seven days in accordance to policy and was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
