Two males charged for theft of cooking oil at an Embrun business  

EMBRUN — Police responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint at a business on Notre-Dame St., Embrun shortly after 1 a.m., August 12. 

Investigation revealed that two males were stealing cooking oil from the business. 

As a result of the investigation, Jimmy Pardalis, 39, of Montreal, was arrested and charged with:

  • Two counts of Theft Under $5,000 CC 334(b) 
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 CC 355(b) 
  • Two counts of Trespassing at Night CC 177

The accused was held for bail. 

Albert Manoukian, 46, of Laval, was arrested and charged with: 

  • Two counts of Theft Under $5,000 CC 334(b) 
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 CC 355(b)
  • Two counts of Trespassing at Night CC 177 

The accused is scheduled to appear in L’Orignal court September 18.

The Russell County OPP is asking every business with cooking oil disposal bins, to be cautious and aware that this is an ongoing trend.
