South Stormont — Township of South Stormont is inviting all residents to share their vision for the future of the Township through the Waterfront Plan and Parks and Recreation Master Plan consultations.

The Township of South Stormont has commissioned Sierra Planning and Management — a multi-disciplinary planning firm, in collaboration with The MBTW Group — a multi-disciplinary landscape architecture and urban design firm, to assess and update the Waterfront Plan and the Parks and Recreation Master Plan. These documents provide the framework for potential future development of waterfront areas and the Township’s parks, facilities and recreation programming.

The development process for both plans is inclusive, requiring input from the general public, user groups, and other stakeholders with a vested interest in each plan’s progress. The process begins tonight — Tuesday, August 13, from 6-8 p.m. — with an initial Public Consultation, held at the South Stormont Community Hall (2 Mille Roches Road, Long Sault).

Following the initial Public Consultation, an online survey will be available for the public to participate and provide their feedback prior to any significant development plans. This public survey can be found and will close on September 27.

The Township encourages all residents to participate in the survey to gauge the needs and desires of the public to best guide the development plans for our waterfront and our parks and recreation areas.
