Traffic complaint leads to impaired charges

EMBRUNA traffic complaint was called in to police on August 17, around 6:30 p.m on St. Albert Rd., Embrun. The driver fled police before being arrested.

Once apprehended, the officer utilized a breathalyzer.

According to police as a result of the investigation, Michael Pelletier, 35, of St-Hubert, Quebec was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs CC 320.14(1)(a);
  • Flight from peace officer CC 320.17;
  • Race a motor vehicle – Stunt HTA 172(1) and
  • Driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor LLA 32(1)

The accused received a 90-day driver’s license suspension and the vehicle was also impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in L’Orignal court on September 11.

 

Domestic assault

ROCKLAND — A domestic dispute occurred on Laurier St., Rockland, shortly before 3 a.m. on August 18.

According to police, investigation revealed that an altercation occurred between a male and a female.

A 22-year-old male from Rockland, was charged with:

  • Assault – Spousal CC 266

The accused is scheduled to appear in L’Orignal court on September 4.
