Family disputes lead to charges
SOUTH STORMONT — Three adults charged after a man was assaulted during a family dispute shortly after 8:30 p.m. on August 31. Investigation revealed that an adult female had assaulted an occupant (adult male) of the home with a weapon. Shortly thereafter, two other adult males assaulted the same victim at the location.
Victoria Lavigne, 20, of Cornwall, was arrested and is charged with:
– Two counts of Assault
– Two counts Assault with a weapon
Alexander Snider, 24, of Cornwall, was arrested and charged with:
– Assault
Christopher Snider, 20, of Cornwall, was arrested and charged with:
– Assault
All three accused were released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall on September 19.
SOUTH STORMONT — SD&G OPP responded to a report of a family dispute shortly before 4 p.m., Sept. 4. According to police, their investigation revealed that a youth male had assaulted a family member during the altercation.
A 13-year-old male of South Stormont, was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault
He was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court, October 17.
Stolen Tractor Trailer
SOUTH GLENGARRY — A tractor trailer was reported stolen from a property on 4th Line Rd. South Glengarry shortly before 7 a.m, August 30. Investigation indicated that sometime overnight August 29-30, culprit(s) attended the property and removed a Red 2005 West Star CNV tractor and a yellow 1993 Arnes Triax Trailer. The culprit(s) also damaged another tractor at the location.
An investigation continues.
Drugs seized at traffic stop
SOUTH DUNDAS — A vehicle was intercepted on Elm St., Iroquois shortly after 11:30 p.m. on August 30. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana and Canadian currency.
The driver, Corey Tschoumy, 29, of Iroquois was arrested and charged with:
– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking (Criminal Code of Canada)
– Possession of property obtained by crime (CCC)
– Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling (Cannabis Act)
– Possession for the purpose of distributing (CA)
He was released and scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on October 1.
