Break-in in S. Dundas; impaired drivers and breach of conditions

Break-in

SOUTH DUNDAS — SD&G OPP responded to a report of a break-in shorty before 12 p.m. September 11, at residence on Saving St. South Dundas.

Police investigation indicated that sometime overnight, unknown culprit(s) attended and removed an air compressor, a chainsaw and two weed eaters. An investigation continues.

Impaired driving charges

NORTH GLENGARRY — A single-car collision occurred on Dalkeith Rd, North Glengarry shortly before 7:30 p.m. on September 12. Police investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol.

The 62 year-old male driver refused to provide a breath sample for the roadside screening device upon request from police.

Michel Lemay, 62, of St. Placide, Quebec was arrested and is charged with:

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while impaired

– Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria November 6.

SOUTH GLENGARRY —  A single-car collision occurred shortly after 7:40 p.m. on September 13, on Hwy. 401, South Glengarry. Investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Andrew Girous, 40, of South Glengarry, was arrested and is charged with:

– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court, November 6.

 

SOUTH DUNDAS — A single-car collision occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. on September 14, in South Dundas. Investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol.

The 32 year-old male driver, refused to provide a breath sample for the roadside screening device upon request from police. The driver had also caused damage to property with his vehicle at the location.

Andrew McConnachie, age 32, of Vars, was arrested and is charged with:

– Failure or refusal to comply with demand

– Mischief

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court October 1.

Breach of conditions

NORTH GLENGARRY — A disturbance was reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. on September 14, in Alexandria. Investigation revealed that a male youth was breaching previous release conditions

The 16-year-old male of North Glengarry, was arrested and is charged with:

– Two counts of failure to comply with conditions of a recognizance 

He was held in custody for bail and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice.

The name of the accused is being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

NORTH DUNDAS — SD&G OPP responded to a report of a male breaching his conditions in Winchester on September 15, shortly before 1 p.m. Investigation revealed that a male youth was breaching previous release conditions.

The 17-year-old male of North Dundas, was arrested and is charged with:

– Fail to comply with conditions of a undertaking

He was held in custody for bail and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice.

The name of the accused is being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
