Charges for Embrun man include extortion, distributing intimate image without consent

LIMOGES — An Embrun man is accused of spousal assault, distributing an intimate image without consent and extortion.

Russell County OPP laid the charges after an investigation triggered by a Sept. 11 domestic complaint — an altercation between a male and a female — on South Indian Drive in Limoges.

He is scheduled to appear in Oct. 2 in L’Orignal court.

The incident was one of 335 calls for service handled by Russell County OPP, Sept. 9 through Sept. 15.

Male charged with break and enter

CASSELMAN — Russell County OPP arrested a man Sept. 14 after responding to a suspicious person complaint at a Principale Street business, where they discovered a door had been forced open.

Officers were summoned to the scene shortly before 7:20 a.m.

Police report that Mathieu St-Hilaire, 36, of Rockland is charged with Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence.

St-Hilaire is slated to appear Oct. 30 in L’Orginal court.

Accused of assault with a weapon

ROCKLAND — Police arrested a 57-year-old Rockland man after responding to a family dispute on Caron Street, around 9 a.m., on Sept. 14.

Russell County OPP say the dispute involved an altercation between a male and a female.

The detachment reports that the accused is charged with: two counts of assault with a weapon; and a charge of resisting a peace officer.

He’s scheduled to appear Oct. 16 in L’Orginal court.
