WINCHESTER — House of Lazarus (HOL) has joined forces with Lisa Williams of Main Street Clothing Company of Winchester to bring a new fundraising event to Dundas County.

The first Purses with a Purpose event is set for this Friday, October 4 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Joel Steele Community Centre in Winchester. Cityline’s Lynn Spence will be emceeing the event and there will be plenty of opportunity to chat with Canada’s fashion expert throughout the evening.

In addition to a fashion show by Main Street Clothing Company, the main event will showcase 10 brand-new designer purses alongside 10 of HOL’s outreach programs. On hand to talk about each of the programs will be volunteers dressed in HOL Boutique’s designer clothing, usually found in the Fashion Stop section of the store. There will also be smaller auctions of gently used mid-range and affordable purses, as well as a silent auction. Cup of Jo’s will provide the hors d’oeuvres, while Stone Crop Acres Winery and Vineyard will be sharing a little wine. There will also be a cash bar.

Tickets are still available at Main Street Clothing Company and Cup of Jo’s in Winchester or at House of Lazarus in Mountain. Tickets are $40 each or $300 for a table of 8. For more information, please contact HOL executive director Cathy Ashby at 613-989-3830 or cashby@houseoflazarus.com.
