SDG — The candidates vying for the federal seat of Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry will line up to face the public later this week in Winchester and Finch.
(Warm-up to those appearances is tonight’s all-candidates meeting, Oct. 8, at the Martintown Community Centre, which starts at 7 p.m.)
In Winchester, doors open 6:30 p.m. this Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Joel Steele Community Centre, allowing the public to grab a seat opposite candidates Eric Duncan (Conservative), Kelsey Catherine Schmitz (NDP), Heather Megill (Liberal), Raheem Aman (Green) and Sabile Trimm (people’s party of Canada). Jointly hosted by the North Dundas Chamber of Commerce and Dundas Federation of Agriculture, the meeting begins a half hour later, wrapping up at 9 p.m. The session includes a public question and answer session with the contenders.
The Stormont Federation of Agriculture also hosts the candidates upstairs at the Finch arena hall this Friday. That event begins at 7:30 p.m.
And if prospective voters miss these rural gatherings, they can still head into Cornwall on the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 15th, where the city’s Chamber of Commerce hosts the candidates at a 7:30 a.m. breakfast inside the Ramada Inn.
Canadians head to the polls Oct. 21.
